Jobot in Irvine, CA seeks a Permanent Superintendent to oversee commercial tenant improvements (TI) in the OC. You will manage planning, scheduling, cost controls, subcontractors, and quality across diverse TI projects including HQs, Life Sciences, Education, Retail and Healthcare.

Ideal candidates have at least 5 years of Superintendent experience in commercial construction, strong leadership, and a proven track record delivering projects on time and within budget.

Responsibilities

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Permanent Superintendent to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing commercial tenant improvements (TI) in the construction industry. This role is critical to our operations and is perfect for someone with a deep understanding of various industries including Headquarters, Life Sciences, Education, Retail, Restaurant, Ground Up, Renovation, TI, Healthcare Construction, Medical Offices, Defense, Aviation, and Manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all aspects of the construction project from planning to implementation.
• Allocate resources for assigned projects.
• Supervise onsite personnel and subcontractors.
• Interface with project inspectors, contractors, architects, engineers, and clients.
• Negotiate with contractors to receive reasonable order costs.
• Maintain high standards of workmanship that adhere to original plans and specifications.
• Prepare internal and external reports pertaining to job status.
• Plan ahead to prevent problems and resolve any emerging ones.
• Coordinate and direct construction workers and subcontractors.
• Review the work progress on daily basis.
• Ensure quality construction standards and the use of proper construction techniques.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Superintendent in the construction industry with a focus on commercial tenant improvements.
• Proven working experience in construction management, including record of successfully completing projects on time and within budget.
• Advanced knowledge of construction management processes, means and methods.
• Expert knowledge of building products, construction details and relevant rules, regulations and quality standards.
• Understanding of all facets of the construction process.
• Familiarity with construction management software packages.
• Ability to plan and see the "big picture".
• Competent in conflict and crisis management.
• Leadership and human resources management skills.
• Excellent time and project management skills.
• BS degree in construction management, architecture, engineering or related field is preferred.
