Job summary

Sigma Build, the general contracting arm of Alpha Residential, seeks a Superintendent to own projects from groundbreaking to closeout on Pittsburgh-area sites. You’ll lead on-site teams, coordinate with architects and subs, and drive schedule adherence while maintaining quality and safety standards.

Responsibilities include translating plans into daily direction, communicating with ownership and stakeholders, and controlling costs to keep projects on budget.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of construction experience with real supervisory responsibility.
• Ability to read and translate construction documents and blueprints into daily on-site direction.
• Proven track record of delivering projects on time and within budget without compromising quality.
• Strong leadership and communication skills to align architects, engineers, subs, and ownership.
• Demonstrated safety-first approach and the ability to prioritize critical tasks under pressure.

As Alpha Residential's vertically integrated GC, Sigma Build takes projects from the ground up - with the built-in advantage of construction and development working side by side from day one. We're looking for a Superintendent who takes real ownership of a jobsite from groundbreaking to final walkthrough- someone who runs a tight, safe site and knows how to keep a project moving without sacrificing quality.

What You'll Own

• Run the job. Lead all phases of construction - planning, coordination, and execution - from a groundbreaking through closeout.
• Keep the team aligned. Partner directly with architects, engineers, and subcontractors to make sure the plans on paper become the building in the ground.
• Own the schedule. Build and manage a realistic project schedule, and drive the crew and trades to hit it.
• Lead the crew. Supervise on-site teams with a strong safety-first culture and a clear read of the plans.
• Protect quality. Hold the line on workmanship - inspect, catch issues early, and don't let shortcuts slide.
• Communicate up. Keep stakeholders informed with clear, honest updates on progress, milestones, and risks - good news and bad.
• Manage the money. Track budget and resources so projects finish on plan, not just on time.

What You Bring

• 5+ years of construction experience with real supervisory responsibility - you've run a jobsite, not just worked on one.
• Solid, practical knowledge of construction methods, materials, and sequencing.
• A track record of taking projects from start to finish without losing schedule, budget, or quality along the way.
• Comfort reading blueprints and construction documents and translating them into daily direction for your crew.
• Sharp organizational instincts - you know what to prioritize when five things go wrong at once.
