Job description

Here's an opportunity to take the lead on large‑scale podium multifamily projects while being part of an employee‑owned contractor with a strong reputation in the Cleveland market. You'll join a company that genuinely invests in its people, rewards performance, and provides long‑term wealth‑building through a highly successful ESOP.

This role is with an employee‑owned general contractor that has spent decades building a strong name across the region. Their teams consistently talk about how grounded, supportive, and people‑oriented the culture is - the kind of place where leadership actually listens, superintendents are trusted, and doing the right thing matters more than cutting corners.

Because the company is employee‑owned, every project contributes directly to your long‑term financial upside. Their ESOP has been consistently strong and highly profitable, creating a clear sense of ownership and pride across the organization. Add in annual bonuses and guaranteed project completion bonuses, and you get a level of recognition and reward few contractors offer. This is also the type of environment where you can grow in the direction you want: whether that means senior field leadership, general superintendent roles, or maintaining a high‑level individual contributor path where your expertise is celebrated.

Description
  • Lead onsite construction activities for large ground‑up multifamily and podium projects ranging from $30M-$60M.
  • Drive the schedule using detailed look‑ahead planning, trade coordination, and proactive issue resolution.
  • Champion safety with daily audits, toolbox talks, and consistent enforcement of company and OSHA standards.
  • Oversee site logistics including sitework, utilities, crane picks, deliveries, laydown, and jobsite flow.
  • Run daily and weekly meetings with subcontractors, ensuring alignment on sequencing, quality, and milestones.
  • Lead quality control through pre‑installation meetings, inspections, punch management, and attention to detail.
  • Coordinate MEP/FP systems with trade partners and support commissioning, start‑ups, and life‑safety testing.
  • Maintain strong relationships with owners, design partners, inspectors, and field teams.
  • Document progress with daily reports, photos, and clear communication with the project team.
  • Drive project closeout including punchlist burn‑down, turnover planning, and warranty support.
Profile
  • Strong proven experience as a Superintendent overseeing large, ground‑up multifamily, podium, mid‑rise, or similarly complex vertical commercial construction.
  • Strong ability to coordinate MEP/FP, structure, envelope, and interior progress on large‑scale projects.
  • Skilled communicator with a calm, steady leadership style that builds trust with field crews and trade partners.
  • Highly organized and proactive, able to anticipate issues early and maintain schedule integrity.
  • Proficient with industry tools such as Procore, Bluebeam, or comparable platforms.
  • OSHA‑30 required; additional safety or quality certifications a plus.
Job Offer
  • Competitive salary of $125,000 - $165,000
  • Employee ownership (ESOP): a highly profitable program that builds long‑term wealth as the company grows.
  • Annual performance bonuses and guaranteed project completion bonuses.
  • Competitive benefits package with full medical, dental, vision, 401(k), PTO, and additional wellness benefits.
  • A genuine people‑first culture where superintendents are respected, supported, and empowered on their projects.
  • Career growth pathways into senior superintendent, general superintendent, or field operations leadership roles.
  • A strong pipeline of large multifamily, commercial, and institutional projects across the Cleveland region.
  • Work for a contractor known for doing high‑quality work and treating employees with integrity and respect.
