TRAVELING SUPERINTENDENT / FIELD MANAGER | WEST COAST + ARIZONA

I'm partnering with a highly respected commercial general contractor to identify an experienced Traveling Superintendent / Field Manager for projects throughout the West Coast and Arizona.

This is a true traveling role for someone who enjoys taking ownership of a project in the field, leading subcontractors, maintaining schedules, and being the go-to person on site.

Candidates can live anywhere in the United States, but you must be comfortable treating each assignment as a temporary relocation rather than expecting to fly home every weekend.

What the Role Looks Like

You’ll independently lead field operations on commercial and public-sector construction projects, working closely with Project Managers, subcontractors, owners, and project stakeholders.

Typical responsibilities include:

• Managing day-to-day field operations from mobilization through closeout
• Coordinating subcontractors and site logistics
• Driving the project schedule and identifying potential delays early
• Maintaining quality and safety standards
• Conducting site meetings and communicating project progress
• Managing inspections, punch lists, and closeout activities
• Serving as the primary field representative for the contractor
• Being the first person on site and often the last one to leave

This is important:

This is not a Monday-through-Thursday travel role.

Projects may require you to remain near the jobsite for extended periods, with home travel realistically occurring approximately once per month depending on the assignment.

Candidates who have successfully worked on long-term traveling construction assignments will be especially attractive.

Compensation

Approximately $90,000 to $140,000+, depending on experience, project background, leadership ability, and relevant public-sector construction experience.

Who We're Looking For

You may be a fit if you have:

• Commercial construction Superintendent or Field Manager experience
• Experience independently running jobsites
• Strong subcontractor coordination and scheduling experience
• Public-sector, government, institutional, or similar project experience preferred
• Strong communication and field leadership skills
• A track record of successfully completing projects from start through closeout
• Genuine willingness to travel and remain near projects for extended assignments

We are absolutely open to experienced Superintendents who came up through the trades and built their careers in the field.

Schedule

The typical workweek is approximately 45 to 50 hours.

The company values strong field leadership and project ownership, but this is not an organization that expects Superintendents to routinely work 70 to 80-hour weeks.
