Hy-Vee is seeking a Breakfast Cook for the Market Grille in our Austin store. The role focuses on prepping ingredients, assembling dishes to recipe specifications, and keeping the kitchen running smoothly from first shift to last.

Qualifications

• Proven ability to solve practical problems and interpret instructions.
• Ability to perform basic addition/subtraction and record figures accurately.
• Understand and follow verbal or demonstrated directions; communicate supply needs.
• Work well in a fast-paced kitchen as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Provide prompt, friendly customer service with a smile.
• Prepare cooking surfaces and ready the kitchen for service.
• Prepare vegetables, sides, meats, and breakfast items per recipes.
• Monitor food quantities and refill as needed throughout shift.
• Prepare items for upcoming shifts to ensure smooth transitions.
• Know menu items and take guest orders as needed.
• Order products and supplies when necessary; notify department head.
• Maintain sanitation and keep work area clean.
• Collaborate with coworkers to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Assist in other store areas and take on special projects.
