Job summary

Hy-Vee Inc. is seeking a Market Grille Cook to prepare hot and cold menu items from prep to plate in a fast-paced store kitchen. You will help keep the food case stocked and ensure every order is made with care, while delivering friendly service and maintaining high standards of quality.

You'll work as part of a team in a bustling Market Grille, handling tasks from prep to clean-up, and adhering to Hy-Vee safety and hygiene guidelines to support a positive customer experience.

Qualifications

• Ability to solve practical problems and interpret instructions across a variety of situations.
• Perform basic addition/subtraction, copy figures, and record accurately.
• Understand and follow verbal or written directions and communicate supply needs.

Responsibilities

• Provide prompt, friendly customer service and greet customers with a smile.
• Prepare cooking surfaces and all menu items including vegetables, sides, meats, breakfast foods, and heat-and-eat varieties.
• Place food in hot cases, monitor amounts, and refill as necessary.
• Stay knowledgeable of all menu items and take guest orders as needed.
• Prepare items for upcoming shifts to keep the department running smoothly.
• Maintain a thorough understanding of all aspects of Market Grille operations.
• Practice proper sanitation procedures and keep work area clean and organized.
