Hy-Vee is seeking a Breakfast Cook at our Market Grille. You will prepare a wide variety of hot and cold breakfast items, assemble dishes, and keep the kitchen running smoothly from the first shift through the last. This role emphasizes quality, speed, and teamwork in a fast-paced environment.

As a Breakfast Cook you’ll greet customers, prep ingredients, and follow recipes and specifications. Join a team dedicated to friendly service and a positive store atmosphere.

Qualifications

• Ability to solve practical problems and interpret instructions across varied situations.
• Perform basic addition/subtraction, copy figures, and count accurately.
• Follow verbal or demonstrated directions and communicate supply needs clearly.
• Work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced kitchen.

Responsibilities

• Provide prompt, friendly customer service with a smile at the counter and in interactions.
• Prepare cooking surfaces and ready the kitchen for service.
• Prepare vegetables, sides, meats, and breakfast items per recipes and specs.
• Place food in hot cases, monitor amounts, refill as needed during shift.
• Prepare items for upcoming shifts to ensure a smooth transition.
• Stay knowledgeable of menu items and take guest orders as needed.
• Order product and supplies or notify department head of needs.
• Maintain sanitation and keep work area clean and organized.
• Work with coworkers as a team to ensure customer satisfaction and a pleasant environment.
• Assist in other areas of the store as needed and take on special projects.
• Maintain personal hygiene, dress standards, and Hy-Vee policies.
