Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Six months or less of similar or related work experience preferred.
• Ability to stand and work in a fast-paced kitchen environment; follow safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Provide prompt, friendly customer service by greeting customers with a smile and creating positive interactions.
• Prepare cooking surfaces and get the kitchen ready for service.
• Prepare vegetables, sides, meats, and breakfast foods according to recipes and specifications.
• Place food in hot cases, monitor amounts, and refill as needed throughout your shift.
• Prepare items for upcoming shifts to ensure a smooth transition.
• Stay knowledgeable of all menu items and take guest orders as needed.
• Order product and supplies when necessary or inform the department head of needs.
• Practice proper sanitation and keep the work area clean and organized at all times.
• Work with coworkers as a team to ensure customer satisfaction and a pleasant work environment.
• Assist in other areas of the store as needed and take on special projects.
• Maintain strict hygiene, dress standards, and all Hy-Vee policies and store guidelines.
• Report to work on time and as scheduled.
