The role includes passing meds, documenting in the electronic medical record, monitoring for side effects, and coordinating with nursing staff, families, and providers to ensure safe, personalized care.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Caregiver and Medication Tech in a Memory Care Unit and/or Assisted Living Facility.
• Ability to obtain and maintain CPR/First Aid Certification during employment.
• Ability to obtain Food Handler's Card.
• Experience in electronic medical records documentation.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Pass medications according to physician orders and facility policy.
• Administer medications accurately and timely.
• Record medications administered in the resident's record.
• Notify pharmacy or family for refills as needed.
• Maintain a clean, organized medication cart and room.
• Monitor and report medication side effects to health services director.
• Record shift information and update medication orders in EMR.
• Follow care plans related to medication administration per resident needs.
