Intern Application

Compensation: $17.28 per hour

Department Summary

The Youth Center serves youth up to age 24 who are at-risk of or experiencing homelessness, providing services in an LGBTQ+ affirming environment. Services include meals, clothing, support groups, education programs, employment training, case management, counseling, crisis shelter, and transitional living programs. Community-based programs support youth in various settings.

Job Summary

This internship prepares individuals for the workforce through work readiness, financial literacy, skills development, career coaching, and mentoring. Placements include working in our culinary arts program, front desk at the Youth Center, or with community partners like OUAI cosmetics, LA DogWorks, and others.

Essential Functions

• Culinary skills in a commercial kitchen
• Social service vocational training and work in social service settings
• Customer service at the Youth Center
• Facilitating activities and maintaining residential areas
• Engaging with seniors aged 50+
• Assisting with Center events
• Other roles including video production and youth advisory council

Qualifications and Experience
