Job summary

H&R Block’s Embark 2027 Summer Internship offers 11 weeks of paid design-focused experience for students in Design, UX Design, and Product Design. The program runs May 17, 2027 – July 30, 2027 at our Kansas City headquarters in Power & Light District, with hands-on responsibilities across research, wireframes, and prototyping.

Interns gain access to amenities and projects, including a $25/hour compensation, PTO during Reboot Week, and a housing stipend for those living farther than 50 miles from

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Pursuing degree in UX Design, Graphic Design, Computer Science, or related discipline with a GPA of 3.0+.

Responsibilities

• Research customer needs and behaviors to inform design decisions.
• Create user flows, wireframes, mockups, and interactive prototypes.
• Design intuitive, accessible, customer-centred experiences from concept to implementation.
• Identify UX challenges and advocate for the user throughout product development.
• Use feedback, research, and data to validate and iterate on designs.
• Collaborate with Product, Engineering, Content, and other Design partners to bring experiences to life.
• Apply established design systems and explore creative solutions.
