Job summary

AIG is inviting students to join its Summer Intern program in the Underwriting department for hands‑on learning and development in risk assessment, financial analysis and relationship management. Interns will work with brokers, clients and internal partners on real risk evaluation tasks and project work.

The 9‑week program runs June 7 through August 6, 2027. In‑person opportunities require interns to be in the office at least four days per week, with mentorship, masterclasses and networking

Qualifications

• Strong written and verbal communication skills, professional tone
• Demonstrated analytical and problem‑solving abilities
• Ability to collaborate effectively in a fast‑paced environment

Responsibilities

• Support evaluation and analysis of risks to determine appropriate coverage and pricing
• Review underwriting submissions, financial information, loss history, exposure data
• Build relationships with brokers, clients and internal partners
• Assist with quotes, proposals, renewals and underwriting documentation
• Learn underwriting guidelines, appetite and risk selection strategies
• Partner with experienced underwriters and cross‑functional teams
• Use data and analytical tools to support underwriting decisions
• Develop knowledge of AIG’s products, industry trends and business areas
• Support portfolio management and identify opportunities for growth
