Job summary

AIG is offering a Summer Intern in the Underwriting department for a 9-week program, providing hands-on experience in risk assessment, financial analysis, and client relationship building. Interns will work with underwriting teams and learn from leaders through masterclasses and mentoring.

The program runs June 7 to August 6, 2027, and interns must be in-office four days a week; exceptional performers may be considered for future Analyst roles in July 2028.

Responsibilities

• Supporting evaluation and analysis of risks to determine coverage, terms, and pricing.
• Reviewing underwriting submissions, financial information, loss history, exposure data, and other materials.
• Building relationships and communicating with brokers, clients, and internal partners.
• Assisting with quotes, proposals, renewals, and underwriting documentation.
• Learning to apply underwriting guidelines, appetite, and risk selection strategies.
• Partnering with senior underwriters and cross-functional teams.
