Job summary

IMEG Corporation in Austin, TX is seeking a Transportation Engineering Intern for a 10–12 week summer program. You will assist with engineering analysis, design, field inspections, report writing, permit applications, and site drainage and grading design while learning the transportation engineering trade.

The internship offers hands-on project work under experienced engineers and exposure to municipal and transportation projects in Central Texas, with strong mentorship and growth opportunities

Qualifications

• Completed at least 2 years towards a Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Civil Engineering, or equivalent required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with transportation-project design for highways, bridges, transit systems, and multimodal transportation networks according to code and IMEG standards.
• Research resources for commercially available equipment.
• Support client relations, project design notebooks, and permanent record documentation.
• Coordinate design and schedules with other disciplines, including architectural, structural, electrical, mechanical, technology, clerical, and equipment suppliers.
• Document design decisions, meetings, and client instructions while monitoring project design progress.
• Review project documents for accuracy and completeness prior to final check.
• Assist with preparation and issuance of addendum information.
• Conduct periodic job site observations and other services required by the contract services agreement.
