Job summary

WSP USA invites a Civil Engineering student to join our New York Transportation Team in Troy as a full-time summer intern. You will work on real projects, gain mentorship, and participate in a 12-week program beginning May 17, 2027, with flexible start dates.

The role supports design, research, and documentation for highway projects, using OpenRoads, MicroStation, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office. Applicants must be enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program and authorized to work in the U.S.

Qualifications

• Actively enrolled in an accredited Civil Engineering degree with anticipated graduation in 2027 or later.
• Must be 18 or older and authorized to work in the United States.
• Interest in highway/transportation engineering and ability to work with engineers and non-engineers.
• Ability to take direction, write technically, and use standard software tools.
• Willingness to travel occasionally as required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with engineering design, project research, preliminary design calculations, and field work.
• Support preparation of final design plans, provisions, and cost estimates.
• Help collect and maintain project documentation.
• Learn and apply civil engineering principles under supervision.
• Participate in safety, ethics, and conduct training and compliance.
