Job summary

WSP USA is seeking a Traffic Engineering Intern for our New York City office as part of the Summer Internship Program. The 12-week internship begins May 17, 2027, with a flexible start date for the individual.

You will support engineering tasks, learn traffic engineering basics, assist with research, field work, and preliminary design calculations, and contribute to project documentation and cost estimates.

Qualifications

• Actively enrolled in an accredited Civil Engineering undergraduate program with graduation date December 2027 or later.
• Authorized to work in the United States at internship start.
• Interest in Traffic Engineering/Transportation and desire to grow in related projects.

Responsibilities

• Support a variety of engineering tasks to develop technical and professional skills.
• Learn basic principles of Traffic Engineering and assist with modeling.
• Assist with project research, field work, and preliminary design calculations.
• Support preparation of design plans, provisions, and cost estimates.
• Help collect and maintain project documentation and training on assigned tasks.
