Job summary

Impulse Space is seeking a Test Automation Engineering Intern for Summer 2027 in Redondo Beach. You will support software tools, data acquisition, hardware control, and test infrastructure as part of a fast‑paced team developing spacecraft testing technology.

The 12‑week internship runs May/June through August/September 2027. You will contribute to development workflows, code reviews, and documentation while gaining hands‑on experience with LabVIEW, Python, and embedded systems concepts.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, CS, or a related technical field.
Experience with Python or another object‑oriented programming language.
Ability to take ownership of projects and work effectively in a small, fast‑paced team.
Interest in software that interacts with hardware, sensors, test equipment, or control systems.

Responsibilities

Support the deployment, integration, and debugging of software tools used for data acquisition, hardware control, automation, and test operations across active test stands and lab environments.
Participate in test operations by helping configure, validate, and troubleshoot software and control systems.
Collaborate with test engineers and operations teams in Redondo Beach and Mojave to ensure software meets real test needs.
Contribute to code reviews, documentation, and improvements to development workflows (including git).
