Job summary

Notre Dame in Redondo Beach, CA is seeking an engineering internship to support deployment, integration, and debugging of software tools for data acquisition, hardware control, automation, and test operations across lab environments.

The role involves configuring and troubleshooting software and control systems, collaborating with test engineers, and contributing to code reviews and development workflows, with on-site work and overtime eligibility during the internship.

Qualifications

• Recent completion of or active pursuit of a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
• Coursework or hands‑on experience with Python or another object‑oriented programming language.
• Ability to take ownership of projects in a small, fast‑paced team.
• Interest in software interacting with hardware, sensors, test equipment, or control systems.
• Preferred: Experience with data acquisition systems, hardware control, or real‑time test environments.
• Preferred: Knowledge of lab/test equipment such as DAQs, sensors, power supplies, instrumentation.
• Preferred: Experience with LabVIEW, C++, Real‑Time Operating Systems, or embedded systems development.
• Preferred: Prior experience building software or hardware projects in academic, competition, or internship settings.

Compensation & Benefits

• Hourly pay of $30.00.
• Internship duration of 12 weeks from May/June through August/September 2027.
