Impulse Space in Redondo Beach seeks an AI&T Engineering Intern to work across engineering teams, building and testing a high-performance spacecraft. You could join Automation & Controls, Integration, Development Test, or Test Automation.

This 12-week internship runs May/June through August/September 2027, with on-site duties and opportunities to contribute to test systems and documentation. A Bachelor’s in Engineering or Science and hands-on experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Working toward a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Science or related field.
• Demonstrated ability to take project ownership and work well cross-functionally.
• Demonstrated hands-on experience working with fluid or mechanical systems.

Responsabilités

• Design and build fluid, mechanical and electrical test systems in support of liquid rocket propulsion and spacecraft systems testing.
• Collaborate with wide ranging teams across the company, including Redondo Beach and Mojave.
• Perform test setup, hardware inspections, checkouts and troubleshooting as needed.
• Conduct test operations geared toward rapidly developing hardware for spaceflight.
• Write and maintain work instructions, test plans, and other critical documentation.
• Work on methods for accelerating the rate that we can build and process vehicles.
• Work on tooling and fixturing that supports assembly and transport.
• Resolve technical issues with innovative and resourceful solutions.
