Job summary

Impulse Space in Redondo Beach, CA is seeking a Propulsion Engineering Intern for Summer 2027 to contribute to propulsion development alongside a fast-paced, agile team. The 12-week internship offers hands-on experience with propulsion hardware, testing, and documentation, with on-site work and opportunities to own critical aspects of development while learning from senior engineers.

You will collaborate with design, test and manufacturing, ensure hardware meets intent, and gain exposure to ITAR

Qualifications

• Recent completion or working towards a degree in engineering, science or related field.
• Ability to take ownership of projects and work in a small team.
• Hands-on experience with fluids or mechanical systems.

Responsibilities

• Own critical aspects of propulsion component and/or system development.
• Collaborate with design, test, and manufacturing teams to produce hardware.
• Ensure hardware performance and function meet intent.
