Degenkolb Engineers offers a summer Structural Engineering Intern program designed to complement your coursework with real project exposure. You will work with mentors on active projects, gaining hands-on experience in seismic analysis and steel design, while exploring multiple regional offices.

Former interns often join the firm as full-time engineers. Participants are hosted across our offices including Michigan and the West Coast, with opportunities to learn from engineers and attend

Qualifications

Continuing student enrolled through at least Fall 2027 semester
Upper-level civil or structural engineering student
Academic coursework in structural analysis, steel design, reinforced concrete design
Minimum undergraduate GPA 3.40; strong graduate performance where applicable
Current authorization to work in the United States for any employer

Responsibilities

Work on active structural engineering projects under experienced engineers
Develop practical skills in structural analysis and design
Participate in mentoring sessions and firm-wide presentations
Collaborate with multidisciplinary project teams across offices
