Qualifications

• Must be a continuing student enrolled through Fall 2027.
• Current full-time Civil Engineering Senior planning to transition to a Structural Engineering graduate program in Fall 2027.
• Current first-year Graduate student in multi-year Structural Engineering master’s or Ph.D. program.
• Structural Analysis, Steel Design, Reinforced Concrete Design must be completed by internship start date.
• Academic performance with minimum GPA 3.40; strong graduate coursework where applicable.
• Demonstrated passion for structural engineering, with focus on seismic analysis or steel design.
• Leadership roles or active involvement in engineering societies or related activities.
• Current authorization to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Work on active structural engineering projects under mentors.
• Develop skills in structural analysis, design, and project delivery.
• Observe sites and contribute to project work with real-world engineering challenges.
• Participate in a summer presentation series with firm leaders.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across offices and practice areas.
• Expand professional network and gain insight into structural engineering careers at Degenkolb.
