Job summary

Capital District Physicians Health Plan Inc in Rochester, NY offers a paid 10-week Summer College Internship Program for undergraduate and graduate students. Interns work on meaningful projects, are mentored by their managers, and attend development workshops to bridge school to the corporate world.

Interns may explore tracks across IT, analytics, and other business domains, with exposure to Agile ceremonies and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Desired Majors/Degree Programs Include: Computing Sciences & Information Technology (i.e. Computer Science, Software Engineering, IT Networking, Cybersecurity, etc.) or similar program(s)
• Preferred (but not required) experience with: Azure/AWS/Other cloud, C#, Angular, GIT, Github Copilot or other AI tools such as Claude Code, GPT Codex, etc.
• High School diploma along with proof of continuous college enrollment (enrolled in a full-time undergraduate or graduate degree program).
• Must be in good academic standing.

Responsibilities

• Specific duties will vary by assignment; specific divisional callouts are listed below.
• Supporting the Candesa Pharmacy Solutions development team by implementing and testing application enhancements, completing conversion work, participating in Agile ceremonies, collaborating with team members through code reviews and technical discussions, and contributing to the delivery of high-quality software solutions.
• Works with a mentor and supports key strategic projects.
• Completes work assignments based on business needs, departmental priorities, and individual qualifications.
• Performs a mix of technical and/or non-technical tasks that will cover a broad range of business-related projects.
• Creates and delivers presentations at completion of internship.
• Maintains confidentiality and protection of member privacy in accordance with the company policies.
• Regular and reliable attendance is expected and required.
• Performs other functions as assigned by management.
