Job summary

NiSource is seeking a Summer Renewable Generation Intern to join our team in Wheatfield, IN for a 12-week program starting May 2027. You will work under the guidance of renewable generation staff on projects that support our utility facilities and services.

The internship emphasizes hands-on learning, professional development, and collaboration with teammates and leaders. Applicants must be current undergraduates in ABET-accredited programs and available for full-time (40 hours/week) work.

Qualifications

• Current student of an ABET-accredited four-year Engineering, Business or Operations program.
• Must have completed at least one year of undergraduate study.
• Ability to work 40 hrs/week.
• Proficiency with PC applications and prefer strong skills with M365.
• Proven communication skills.
• Authorized to work in the United States without requiring sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Assist renewable generation staff on projects to meet utility facility needs.
• Provide project management support for electric generation facilities of varying complexity.
• Collect and analyze data and review records as part of project tasks.
• Read and interpret legal agreements relevant to projects.
• Assist with field measurements and create work orders or purchase requisitions.
