Job summary

NiSource is seeking a Summer Asset Management Intern for a 12-week program beginning May 2027. The role is based in Merrillville, IN or Wheatfield, IN, and offers exposure to renewable generation projects within a collaborative team environment.

The intern will collect and analyze data, assist with field measurements, read agreements, and help create work orders while developing professional skills and building relationships across NiSource.

Qualifications

• Current student in ABET-accredited four-year Engineering, Business or Operations program.
• Must have completed at least one year of undergraduate study.
• Ability to work 40 hrs/week.
• Proficiency with PC applications and strong skills with M365.
• Proven communication skills.
• Authorized to work in the United States without requiring sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Assist renewable generation staff on projects and provide support.
• Evaluate and provide project management support for generation facilities.
• Collect and analyze data and review records.
• Read and interpret legal agreements.
• Create work orders and/or purchase requisitions.
• Perform field measurements.
• Maintain safety-conscious approach to work.
