Job summary

NiSource is seeking a Summer Asset Management Intern for a 12-week program starting May 2027. The role is based in Merrillville, IN or Wheatfield, IN, and requires residency within 50 miles of the location.

Interns will work with renewable generation staff, gaining exposure to NiSource's operations and current events in the utilities industry, while completing meaningful projects and participating in professional development activities.

Qualifications

• Current student of an ABET-accredited four-year Engineering, Business or Operations program.
• Must have completed at least one year of undergraduate study.
• Ability to work 40 hrs/week.
• Authorized to work in the United States without requiring sponsorship.
• Proficiency with PC applications and strong skills with M365.
• Proven communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist and be under guidance of renewable generation staff on projects.
• Provide project management support for electric generation facilities at varying levels of complexity.
• Collaborate with team members and leaders to learn and contribute in a structured internship program.
