Job summary

BNSF Railway offers a paid Engineering Intern position in the Signal department, based across multiple locations. This 40-hour-per-week internship provides hands-on experience in railroad signaling systems, with relocation/travel up to 75% and a pathway to the Management Trainee Program.

Starting in summer, the program emphasizes safety, inclusion, and real-world project work, with orientation in Fort Worth, TX, and ongoing project support at assigned sites.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's or Graduate degree in Engineering (Electrical, Civil, etc.).
• Capable of working in a 24/7 environment including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, maintain, repair, and construct signal infrastructure along the right of way.
• Plan and schedule maintenance and verify quality of work.
• Expand and update infrastructure and oversee projects on BNSF property.
• Shadow roles such as Signal Supervisor and Signal Maintainer to gain field experience.
• Ensure safety of teams and manage project finances and communications.
