Job summary

BNSF Railway is seeking engineering track and structures summer interns for 2027. The program offers hands-on experience in track or structures, with a focus on safety, reliability, and project exposure across multiple locations, including El Paso, TX and Fort Worth area.

Expect a 40-hour workweek, travel and relocation for the summer, and potential paths into the Management Trainee Program. Applicants must be pursuing an Engineering degree, maintain a minimum GPA of 2.75, and be eligible to

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's or Graduate degree in Engineering (Industrial, Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, Structural, etc.).
• GPA of at least 2.75.
• Legally authorized to work in the United States.
• Willing to relocate for the summer and travel up to 75% of the time.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, maintain, repair, and construct track infrastructure.
• Plan and schedule maintenance and verify work quality.
• Coordinate with departments to ensure safe and efficient operations.
• Shadow roles to gain boots-on-the-ground experience in track or structures.
