Job summary

Magellan Health seeks an Assignment Ready Counselor (ARC) for summer and on-demand deployments to support military members and families. The role covers May 15 through September 15, aligning with school breaks, and may involve DoDEA schools, youth programs, and MFLC services.

Under minimal supervision, the counselor provides non-medical counseling, brief therapy and health presentations, with a focus on adults and youths, ensuring confidentiality and appropriate referrals as needed.

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in a mental health field or social work.
• Short-notice assignments may be required, including weekends.
• Experience in school settings preferred for CYB role backups.
• Must be fluent in English and able to prove US citizenship.

Responsibilities

• Provide non-medical, short-term, solution-focused counseling to adults, children and youth of service members and families.
• Deliver training and health/wellness presentations; participate in health fairs and base activities.
• Enter counselor activity data daily and maintain confidentiality and privacy.
• Coordinate with installation POCs to ensure program scope and needs are met.
