Job summary

Magellan Health, Inc. is seeking an Assignment Ready Counselor (ARC) to provide non-medical, brief, solution-focused counseling to military service members and their families at installations.

Coverage includes short-term surges, on-demand, and summer camps, with potential DoDEA or school-based assignments. Requires Master’s in a mental health field or social work and independent licensure; prior military experience or familiarity with military culture is preferred.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree from an accredited graduate program in a mental health related field, or social work.

Responsibilities

• Provide non-medical, short term, solution focused counseling to adults, children and youth.
• Enter counselor activity data daily through smartphone or web application.
• Provide training and health and wellness presentations; participate in health fairs and base activities.
• Support MFLC services in a variety of military community and readiness centers and on-demand/surge assignments.
• Establish and maintain relationships with community resources and provide appropriate linkages.

Education

Master's degree in Behavioral Health or Social Work

LPC license or equivalent independent licensure
