Job summary

Magellan Federal seeks an Assignment Ready Counselor (ARC) to provide non‑medical, short‑term behavioral health support to service members and their families across DoD installations. The role includes surge and on‑demand coverage during the May–September period, with the aim of maintaining continuity for MFLC services.

The ARC will work in adult and CYB settings, including DoDEA and community schools, offering brief therapy, consults to parents, and health‑wellness presentations.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in behavioral health (or social work) from an accredited program.
• Willingness to accept assignments on short notice, including weekends.
• Ability to cover varying lengths from weekends to two weeks.
• Quick rapport with service members, families, students, parents and colleagues.
• Adaptable to different locations and working conditions, with minimal instruction.

Responsibilities

• Provide non‑medical, short‑term, solution‑focused counseling to adults, children, and youth.
• Support staff in DoDEA, schools, youth programs, and camps; deliver parent guidance.
• Conduct health and wellness trainings and participate in base activities.
• Enter counselor activity data daily via smartphone or web app while maintaining confidentiality.
