Job summary

Magellan Health is seeking a Military and Family Life Counselor (ARC) for short-term, on-site assignments during the May 15th to September 15th summer window. The role covers adults, children, and youth of service members, offering brief, solution-focused counseling with minimal supervision in DoD and DoDEA settings.

The position requires a Master’s in Behavioral Health or Social Work, strong counseling skills, and military culture familiarity.

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in Behavioral Health or Social Work required.
• Willing to accept assignments of undefined periods, including weekends.
• Full-time coverage of varying lengths from weekend to two weeks.
• Advanced knowledge of brief therapy and solution-focused counseling methods.
• Must be able to prove US Citizenship and be fluent in English.
• CYB positions require experience with children and youth and relevant development psychology knowledge.
• Prior military service or familiarity with military culture is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides non-medical, short-term, solution-focused counseling to adults, children, and youth of service members.
• Supports staff and personnel of DoDEA, CDCs, schools, youth programs and camps; provides parent training.
• Delivers health and wellness presentations and participates in health fairs and base activities.
• Enters counselor activity data daily, ensuring accurate reporting and confidentiality.
