Job summary

St. Luke's Health Network, Inc. seeks a Student Nurse Extern-Level I for a 9-week, full-time summer program. The extern will work 12-hour day shifts, Monday through Friday, gaining exposure to the multidisciplinary team and patient care activities.

Eligibility requires enrollment in a BSN program with sophomore year completed or ADN program with first year completed, and participation in two cohorts across the summer.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a BSN or ADN nursing program with year completed.

Responsibilities

• Follows treatment plan as directed by licensed personnel.
• Performs vital signs, intake/output, glucometry, specimen collection.
• Assists with patient ADLs and restocks supplies.
• Communicates changes in patient conditions to the RN.
• Maintains patient safety, confidentiality and documentation.
