Job summary

St. Luke's University Health Network is seeking a current BSN or ADN nursing student for the Student Nurse Extern I Summer Externship 2027. This 9-week, full-time program provides hands-on patient care under licensed personnel with observation opportunities across multiple campuses.

Participants will perform vitals, ADLs, specimen collection, glucometry, and charting while learning the workflow of a multidisciplinary care team in a busy hospital setting.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in BSN or ADN nursing program with year requirements.
• High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• Current BLS/CPR certification and ability to read/write English.

Responsibilities

• Follows treatment plan as directed by licensed personnel.
• Performs vital signs, intake/output, glucometry, specimen collection, ADLs.
• Restocks supplies and assists with admitting processes.
• Documents care and communicates changes to the RN.
• Maintains confidentiality and follows safety policies.
