Job summary

A regional healthcare provider is offering a Nurse Extern Program for rising senior nursing students. Qualifications

• Must be a rising senior nursing student with active enrollment in nursing school.
• Prefer overall grade point average of at least 3.0.
• Active listing on North Carolina Department of Health and Human Resources Nurse’s Aide registry as NAI or NAII.

Responsibilities

• Perform unit specific nursing activities within scope of NAI or NAII registry.
• Practice within limits of the position under direction of assigned preceptor.
• Shadow the RN preceptor to observe patient care.

Skills

Ability to read, write and communicate effectively in English

Proficient with MS Office

Education

High school education or equivalent
