Job summary

IMEG Corporation in Minneapolis, MN, is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Intern for a 10-12 week summer program. You will assist with the analysis, design, and oversight of mechanical systems for the building industry while collaborating with a team of experienced engineers and consultants on real project work.

During the internship you’ll contribute to documentation, coordination, final-check preparation, addenda, and site observations across education, government, and healthcare settings.

Qualifications

• Completed at least 2 years towards a BS in Mechanical Engineering.
• Strong interest in design consulting.
• Proficient with MS Office (Word/Excel/Outlook).
• Skilled in AutoCAD and BIM software.
• Clear oral and written communication.

Responsibilities

• Assist with design portions of projects related to discipline systems per IMEG standards.
• Research commercially available equipment.
• Support client relations and maintain project design notebooks.
• Coordinate design and schedule with other disciplines.
• Document design decisions and client instructions; monitor progress.
• Review project documents for accuracy before final check.
• Prepare and issue addendum information.
• Conduct periodic site observations and support related services.
