Job summary

Westinghouse Electric Company LLC in Cranberry Township, PA, is offering a paid Project Engineering intern role for the summer of 2027. You will gain hands-on experience in the nuclear power sector and support AP300 and AP1000 projects under the APx Project Engineering Manager.

The position is onsite May–August 2027, full-time, with responsibilities spanning design data, licensing support, and cross-group collaboration. Prior internship or project experience in engineering is valued.

Qualifications

• Completed Sophomore year of college.
• Interest in nuclear power industry and nuclear systems.
• Previous internship or project engineering experience.
• Familiarity with nuclear power plant design and operations.
• Basic knowledge of project management principles.

• Help develop engineering solutions for the AP300 and AP1000 projects
• Support the project engineering team in compiling technical design information and preparing reports
• Work with several engineering groups to ensure delivery of engineering commitments
• Participate in project meetings and contribute to discussions on technical challenges and solutions

About the role:

As a Project Engineering intern, you will gain hands-on experience in the nuclear power industry and contribute to the development of the latest technology.

You will report to the APx Project Engineering Manager and be located at our Cranberry facility. This is a paid full-time onsite position for the summer, May - August 2027.

Key Responsibilities:

• Help develop engineering solutions for the AP300 and AP1000 projects
• Support the project engineering team in compiling technical design information and preparing reports

We are committed to transparency and equity in all of our people practices. The hourly rate for this position, which is dependent upon experience, qualifications and skills, is estimated to be $25.40 to $29.00 per hour.
