Job summary

Westinghouse Electric Company LLC in Cranberry Township, PA, is seeking a Project Controls intern for the summer 2027 (May–August). Responsibilities

• Initiate and plan all controls aspects of a project, including baselines.
• Apply tools and techniques to plan work, reduce inefficiencies and optimize performance.
• Manage all aspects of project controls: scope, schedule, cost, risk, and earned value.
• Close projects by archiving in financial, scheduling, document management, and resource systems/tools.
• Cultivate relationships with the team, customer, and partners to facilitate successful completion.
• Implement improvement opportunities which add value.

About the role:

As a Project Controls intern, you will assist the project engineers and project controllers on the portfolio of projects.

You will report to the Project Controls Long Term Operations – Engineered Solutions Manager and be located at our Cranberry facility. This is a paid full-time hybrid position for the summer, May - August 2027.

Key Responsibilities:

• Initiate and plan all controls aspects of a project, which includes project baselines
• Apply tools and techniques to plan work such that you reduce inefficiencies, and optimize overall project performance
• Responsible for all aspects of project controls activities including scope, schedule, cost, risk, and earned value assessment
• Close project by archiving work in financial, scheduling, document management, and resource management systems/tools
• Cultivate relationships with the team, customer, and other partners (e.g. internal management) to facilitate successful project completion
• Implement improvement opportunities which will add value

Qualifications:

• Pursuing a bachelor's degree in project management, Engineering, or related technical discipline required
• Completed Sophomore year of college
• Familiar with the Project Management Institute (PMI®)'s Project Management Body of Knowledge
• High-level technical knowledge of nuclear power plants

We are committed to transparency and equity in all of our people practices. The hourly rate for this position, which is dependent upon experience, qualifications and skills, is estimated to be $23.00 to $26.30 per hour.
