Job summary

Westinghouse Electric Company in Cranberry Township, PA, is offering a paid Project Engineering intern position for the summer of 2027. You will gain hands-on experience in the nuclear power industry and report to the APx Project Engineering Manager.

This onsite role supports developing solutions for AP300/AP1000, collaborating with engineering teams, preparing reports, and assisting with licensing and project decisions.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, or related).
• Completed sophomore year of college.
• Interest in the nuclear power industry and nuclear systems and technologies.
• Previous internship or project experience in engineering.
• Familiarity with nuclear power plant design and operations.
• Basic knowledge of project management principles.

Responsibilities

• Help develop engineering solutions for the AP300 and AP1000 projects.
• Support the project engineering team in compiling technical design information and preparing reports.
• Work with several engineering groups to ensure delivery of engineering commitments.
• Participate in project meetings and contribute to discussions on technical challenges and solutions.
• Help develop licensing strategies and help fulfill licensing requirements.

• Help prepare presentations and documentation for all partners.

About the role:

As a Project Engineering intern, you will gain hands‑on experience in the nuclear power industry and contribute to the development of the latest technology.

You will report to the APx Project Engineering Manager and be located at our Cranberry facility. This is a paid full‑time onsite position for the summer, May - August 2027.

We are committed to transparency and equity in all of our people practices. The hourly rate for this position, which is dependent upon experience, qualifications and skills, is estimated to be $25.40 to $29.00 per hour.
