Job summary

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a 4-year college bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, Automation Engineering, Controls Engineering, Mechatronics, Computer Engineering, or related field.
• Coursework or experience involving PLC programming, industrial automation, process controls, or instrumentation is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with design, development, testing, and implementation of industrial control and automation systems.
• Support programming, troubleshooting, and modification of PLC-based control systems.
• Assist with development and modification of HMI screens, operator interfaces, alarms, and process displays.
• Support troubleshooting of electrical, instrumentation, controls, and automation-related equipment issues.
• Work with engineers, technicians, maintenance personnel, and operations to identify and resolve process and equipment problems.
• Assist with installation, configuration, calibration, and testing of process instrumentation and control devices.
• Support VFDs, motor controls, sensors, actuators, and other automated equipment.
• Assist with data collection and analysis to identify opportunities for improved equipment reliability, process control, productivity, and quality.
• Participate in control system upgrades, equipment installations, and capital improvement projects.
• Assist with developing and maintaining electrical drawings, control schematics, system documentation, and equipment specifications.
• Support industrial communication networks and interfaces between manufacturing equipment and control systems.
• Participate in equipment commissioning and system testing activities.
• Assist with root cause analysis and continuous improvement efforts related to equipment and process performance.
• Follow safety procedures and engineering standards in an industrial environment.
• Perform other engineering, automation, and process improvement projects as assigned.
