Job summary

ATI is seeking a Summer 2027 Intern for Process Controls and Automation at its Brackenridge Operations in Monaca, PA. The intern will gain hands-on experience with PLCs, HMIs, instrumentation, and industrial networks in an active manufacturing environment.

You will collaborate with engineers, maintenance and operations to improve equipment reliability, process performance, and safety while supporting control system upgrades and capital projects.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related technical field at an accredited 4-year college.
• Coursework or experience in PLC programming, automation, process controls, or instrumentation is preferred.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist design, development, testing, and implementation of industrial control and automation systems.
• Support programming, troubleshooting, and modification of PLC-based control systems.
• Develop and modify HMI screens, alarms, and process displays.
• Troubleshoot electrical, instrumentation, and automation equipment issues.
• Assist with control system upgrades and project documentation.
