Job summary

Assistance Technique Internationale (ATI) in Brackenridge, PA, is seeking a Process Controls and Automation Intern for Summer 2027. You will work with engineers and technicians to support control systems, automation equipment, and PLC/HMI technologies in an industrial manufacturing environment.

You will gain hands-on experience with instrumentation, networks, drives, and process control while helping improve equipment reliability, process performance, safety, and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing an accredited 4-year college degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Coursework or experience in PLC programming, industrial automation, process controls, or instrumentation.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist design, development, testing, and implementation of industrial control and automation systems.
• Support programming, troubleshooting, and modification of PLC-based control systems.
• Assist with development and modification of HMI screens, operator interfaces, alarms, and displays.
• Help troubleshoot electrical, instrumentation, and controls issues in an industrial setting.
• Collaborate with engineers, technicians, maintenance staff, and operators to resolve process problems.
• Assist with installation, configuration, calibration, and testing of instrumentation and control devices.
• Support data collection and analysis to identify opportunities for improvement in equipment reliability and process control.
• Participate in system upgrades, equipment installations, and capital projects.
