Job summary

ATI is seeking a Process Controls and Automation Intern for Summer 2027 at Brackenridge Operations. You will gain hands-on experience with PLCs, HMIs, instrumentation, and industrial networks, supporting control systems and equipment reliability.

Join engineers, technicians and operators to design, test, troubleshoot, install, calibrate, and document control solutions, while contributing to safety, quality, and manufacturing efficiency.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in electrical/com automation related field.
• Basic understanding of control systems and instrumentation.
• Willingness to work in an industrial manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist with design, development, testing, and implementation of control and automation systems.
• Support programming, troubleshooting, and modification of PLC-based control systems.
• Assist with HMI screens, alarms, and process displays.
• Gather data and assist in process improvement and equipment reliability efforts.
• Document electrical drawings and control schematics.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering / related field
