Job summary

BlueCross BlueShield of South Carolina invites students to join a 2027 Summer Internship. This paid, on-site program runs May 17–Aug 6, 2027, a 12-week, 40 hours/week placement in Myrtle Beach or Florence, designed to build real-world skills in a supportive team environment.

You’ll rotate through departments, complete supervised tasks, and participate in mentoring, training, and networking events that introduce healthcare administration, data, and business operations within our BCBS ecosystem.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Strong communication, organizational and analytical skills.
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
• Currently enrolled in college and pursuing a 4-year degree.
• Completed at least two years of academic study (rising junior or senior).
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Train, complete tasks for department information maintenance (documents, spreadsheets, databases).
• Use systems/tools to perform research and assist with projects.
• Participate in department training to gain knowledge and skills.
• Complete area tasks to learn procedures and best practices.
• Communicate with other areas of the company as needed.
• Create/present area statistics and knowledge gained.
