BlueCross BlueShield of South Carolina invites applications for a Summer Student Intern (all majors). This on-site 12-week internship in Columbia, SC runs May 17 to August 6, 2027, requiring 40 hours per week.

You will gain hands-on experience across departments, with structured training and mentoring. Opportunities to participate in volunteering and networking events are included, along with exposure to the healthcare insurance industry and cross-functional teamwork.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Maintain documents, spreadsheets, databases, or related items.
• Use various systems and tools to perform research and assist with projects.
• Participate in department training and tasks to learn procedures.
• Create, present, and report on area statistics and knowledge acquired.
• Assist other staff with everyday tasks to learn business operations.
• Participate in volunteering and networking events to learn about healthcare insurance industry.
