Job summary

BlueCross BlueShield of South Carolina invites a Summer Intern to gain real-world healthcare insurance industry experience in a 12-week, on-site program in Columbia. You will work 40 hours per week, Monday–Friday, from May 17 to August 6, 2027, with tasks spanning document management, research, and project support under supervision.

You will participate in department training, networking events, and volunteering opportunities while developing skills in accounting/finance and business operations.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
• Good planning and multi-tasking abilities.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Provide training, tasks, and tech-based work experiences across multiple areas.
• Maintain documents, spreadsheets, databases, and related items.
• Research and assist with projects using various systems and tools.
• Participate in department training to learn procedures and best practices.
• Support staff with daily tasks to understand business operations and workflows.
