Job summary

University Center is seeking a Housing Operations Manager to oversee the Summer Housing Program and support the Housing Team throughout the year. The role handles contracts, billing, room turnover, and arrival/departure planning while coordinating meal plans and occupancy data to maximize property performance.

The HOM recruits, trains, and manages the Guest Service Intern Program, travels to university career fairs, and ensures onboarding, training, and professional development for interns.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or high school diploma with 1+ year relevant experience.
• Experience in hotel reservations, sales, or university housing operations.
• Familiarity with StarRez housing management database strongly preferred.
• Supervisory, training, or scheduling experience preferred.
• Excellent customer service skills and professional demeanor.
• Ability to work in fast-paced environments and make decisions.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Willingness to obtain Illinois Leasing license within 120 days.

Responsibilities

• Oversee operations and ensure efficient management of the summer housing program.
• Review all group housing contracts and ensure proper setup for arrivals and departures.
• Create notices, forms, and billing reminders for residents and clients.
• Plan move-in/move-out processes and accommodate flexible shifts.
• Develop occupancy plans with Sales and Leasing teams.
• Recruit, train, and supervise Guest Service Intern program.
• Maintain summer housing training and housing software programs.
• Maintain StarRez data and resident files.
• Communicate information about meal plans, housing services, and amenities.
• Assist Director of Housing with occupancy planning and unit assignments.
• Assist Sales Staff with reports, tours, and presentations.
