Job summary

University Center in Chicago, IL seeks a Guest Service Intern to support summer housing operations. The role rotates between Guest Service Agent, Guest Room Attendant and Shift Supervisor, with the housing and sales teams coordinated daily.

The position emphasizes professional service, strong work ethic, and adherence to the Employee Handbook, with a 3-month commitment and 40-hour weeks during mid-May through mid-August. A furnished apartment, utilities, and meal plan are provided on-site.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Excellent customer service skills and professionalism.
• Excellent verbal and written communication and organizational skills.
• Computer literacy and ability to learn new software.
• Proven ability to work with diverse students, staff and guests.
• Previous management, hospitality or customer service education/experience preferred.
• Must display strong leadership qualities.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and operate the Guest Service Front Desk.
• Learn and master internal software and badging systems.
• Check-in/out guests and residents using internal software.
• Answer guest calls and on-site requests daily.
• Respond to emails daily and manage ledgers/payments.
• Assist with meal payments and room statuses.
• Coordinate housekeeping and inventory for rooms.
