Job summary

NiSource is seeking a Summer Engineering Intern to join the team for a 12-week program in Valparaiso, IN. The intern will assist engineering staff on projects, gaining exposure to electric and gas facility design, estimation, and project management.

Successful candidates are ABET-accredited four-year engineering students, able to work 40 hours per week, and able to communicate effectively. Residency within 50 miles of Valparaiso is required.

Qualifications

• Current student in an ABET-accredited four-year engineering program.
• Must have completed at least one year of undergraduate study.
• Ability to work 40 hrs/week.
• Proficiency with PC applications and strong skills with AutoCAD and MS Excel & Access.
• Proven communication skills.
• Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Assist engineering staff on projects to meet utility facility needs.
• Evaluate, design, estimate, and provide project management of electric and gas facilities.
