Job summary

Pepper Construction Group LLC in the Chicagoland area is offering a 2027 Summer Project Engineer Intern program. You will be paired with a Project Manager and/or Superintendent on a construction team, gaining exposure to real project management tasks.

The role includes processing submittals, take-offs, budgeting support, attending job site/owner meetings, and participating in training sessions, site tours, and safety activities. The internship lasts 12 weeks from Memorial Day to mid-August.

Qualifications

• Current college student entering Sophomore, Junior, or Senior year studying Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or Construction Engineering.
• Good communication skills - verbal and written.
• Strong computer skills and ability to learn new technology quickly.
• Able to work independently yet collaboratively in a team.
• Skilled at multitasking while maintaining attention to detail.
• Reliable self-transportation to and from work activities daily.
• Able to work in the Chicagoland area; participate in a 12-week program Memorial Day to Mid-August.

Responsibilities

• Work with a Project Manager and/or Superintendent on a Chicagoland construction team.
• Assist with submittals, take-offs, and potentially budgets.
• Attend job site and owner meetings; participate in training sessions and site tours.
• Engage in safety activities and an intern project competition simulating bidding and winning work as a general contractor.
